Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership (SASP) have recently announced that nominations are now open for their 2018 Somerset Activity and Sport Awards. Many of those who will be nominated for an award will have given their own time to help inspire and facilitate activities for all ages and abilities throughout Somerset.
We at 4 George continue to help charities and communities access funding to increase participation in sport and leisure activities. We worked with the trustees of The Centre for Activity and Community Hub (COACH) in Taunton to secure over £500k of funding to construct their unique building at French Weir Park. It links 69 acres (28 hectares) of public green space at Longrun Meadow with the River Tone and Taunton’s town centre and is accessible to all. The facilities, which opened in May 2017, include a cafe, an education and training suite and easy access to the river for a range of activities and experiences.
