Coombe Farm Education Provision

4George was approached by Coombe Dairy Farm near Crewkerne to support them in developing their education programme for young people and making closer links with the schools in the surrounding area.

Support

Work started by addressing current provision and reviewing relevance to the new curriculum, ensuring delivery was closely aligned with the new specification in 2014. Following a consultation with local teaching staff, new opportunities were identified and a programme for the 2014-2015 academic year devised.

Solutions

As a working farm there was a limited number of allocated opportunities yet these were quickly booked by schools. Teachers and pupils have all reported what a wonderful experience this is and provides excellent material to support learning back in the classroom.
