ACRE have put together a guidance document to help community and village halls and buildings to establish if they can claim the Small Business Rate Relief grants that the Government are providing.
These grants are accessible through your local authority – so in my area South Somerset District Council. I have applied for a few for clients and the process is incredibly simple and quick – the grant, which is a minimum of £10k, lands in your account within a week or so.
Some local authorities are contacting organisations who may be eligible but have not yet applied but not all of them – so its worth checking it out for yourselves.
It is also worth noting that even if you get turned down there is the potential for discretionary funding at a later date – full details of how this will work have not yet been released.
