WESPORT Funding Workshop

WESPORT is the county sports partnership for the old Avon area covering Bristol, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Bath local authorities.

They are a sporting charity that is passionate about helping people become more physically active and enjoy the benefits that an active lifestyle can bring.

They carry out their aim through supporting sports clubs and organisations, supporting coaches, volunteers and officials and delivering Sport England programmes.

Support

With the launch of the new Sport England strategy and the realisation that funding for sport is becoming more difficult to secure, WESPORT contacted 4George requesting support to run a session on raising funds for their local sports club. 4George developed a bespoke session covering the range of finance options which sports clubs could access and delivered it to over 90 clubs at the University of the West of England in Bristol.

Success

Feedback from the session has been very positive and follow up sessions on specific elements of finance are planned in the near future.
